India's steel industry is preparing for its next phase of growth—not just by expanding production capacity, but by embracing digital transformation. During the Chintan Shivir 2026 on Digitalisation in the Steel Sector, organised by the Ministry of Steel, the Government of India highlighted Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Digital Twins, Robotics, and Advanced Data Analytics as technologies that will play a significant role in strengthening the country's steel sector. The initiative reflects India's broader vision of building a smarter, more efficient, and globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem while supporting its long-term steel production goals.
